UNDERSTANDING SYSTEMS OF OPPRESSION & BUILDING ALLYSHIP FOR ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE

Session Description:Creating meaningful change within organizations requires more than good intentions—it demands a clear understanding of how systems of oppression show up in our structures, cultures, and everyday practices. This session invites participants to explore the historical and ongoing impact of systems like racism, sexism, ableism, and classism, and how they shape power, privilege, and exclusion in the workplace.
Through facilitated dialogue, self-reflection, and applied learning, participants will unpack how these systems operate both explicitly and implicitly—and how we may unconsciously reinforce them. The session also explores what it means to practice authentic allyship at the individual, interpersonal, and organizational levels. Rather than performative gestures, we’ll focus on sustained action, accountability, and relational approaches to equity work.
In Person - Friday, August 15 · 9:30am - 5pm MDT

This training pairs powerfully with our upcoming session: Inclusive Leadership & Organizational Culture: Building Resilient, Values-Aligned Teams (Friday, August 22, 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
