The Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) program is a comprehensive course designed for those looking to develop and lead impactful interpretive programs. Participants will learn the history, definitions, and principles of interpretation while creating and delivering a thematic presentation with instructor and peer support. This course will also teach participants how to integrate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) into interpretive methods, teaching participants how to craft messages that resonate with diverse audiences through culturally sensitive language and perspectives. Through hands-on activities and case studies, participants will not only learn interpretive skills but also learn enhanced cultural competence and engaging effectively with diverse communities.
